Angler’s Workshop
Time: Saturday, March 20th from 9 am to 3:45 pm
Location: Brighton Twelve Corners Middle School – Monroe Ave Entrance
Tickets: Purchase at the Door – Adult = $15 & Youth under 16 = $10

Angler’s Workshop presents 22 enthusiastic instructors who want to teach, share knowledge and
contribute to fly fishing! This is a great opportunity to improve fly fishing skills, learn new
patterns, practice casting, network with fellow anglers, discover new waters, introduce a kid to
fly fishing or even win a fly fishing raffle. A few Angler’s Workshop topics include:
- Getting started in fly fishing *Hands on fly tying workshops (adult & kids)
- Basic and advanced streamside tactics * European nymph techniques
- Casting instruction (adult & kids) *Leader construction, rigging and knots
- New York State fishing destinations *Steelhead and salmon techniques
- Two-handed rod fishing *Midges and spring creek strategies
- Photography tips and fishing *Kayak fishing and Rod Building
- Warmwater targets and techniques *Saltwater fly fishing
Angler’s Workshop Schedule:
- Every session boasts 6-8 workshops for participants to choose from. Angling Theater, fly tying demos,
casting in both gyms, and Angler’s Atrium exhibits open all day. Bring your fly tying Vise and
Tools if you want to fly tie. - Quality fly fishing bucket raffles worth hundreds of dollars. Raffle drawings at 3:30 pm in cafeteria.
- Snacks/sodas available in the cafeteria. Numerous meal options nearby in Twelve Corners/Monroe Avenue.

Session 2- 10:00 to 10:50 Session 5- 1:00 to 1:50
Session 3- 11:00 to 11:50 Session 6- 2:00 to 2:50
